The new company Breguet Nephew & Company
In 1833, Louis-Clément Breguet, son of Antoine-Louis, took over the new Breguet Company, that was bought afterwards by Edward Brown in 1870.
The Chaumet episode
In 1970, the brothers Jacques and Pierre Chaumet bought the brand Breguet. They opened a new workshop in Le Brassus in Switzerland in 1976. Then the brand is again bought by the Investors Corporation Group in 1987, a new factory is built in L'Abbaye.
The SWATCH Group integration
Finally the famous watchmaker SWATCH Group decided to buy the brand Breguet in 1999 further to a long period of growth.
The SWATCH strategy is to have a rich portfolio of luxury premium that have a huge industrial assets (Factory, equipment and qualified people) and marketing power in order to increase and to get markets shares from the following competitors : Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, Audemars Piguet and others.
